Racing Racing Racing

Speccy sunset  for the last night of the year

Into the misty - twilight sailing

We have had mixed results in the twilights but some lovely sailing nevertheless. We (Celine, Karen Michael, Julie) retired from the first race after the finish rather than deal with a protest for a rather audacious and not entirely successful tack at the start. But we had a nice race anyway.

Yet another groovy sunset

The second twilight saw John back on Cheshire Cat and with Jenni on the helm with Michael and Karen, an excellent start and another lovely race with the sun setting over Drummoyne in spectacular fashion.

The first Sunday race was pedestrian with a 5th PHS and 7th BMS.

BUT the next one was a winner, in every sense. Jenni on the helm we crossed first and we never looked back.

Concentration!
Spinnakers behind us

Winners are grinners

Seriously we led from start to finish. The committee shortened the course for our division which meant we were the FIRST BOAT TO CROSS THE FINISH LINE out of everyone! Very nice to see all the spinnakers behind us.  And we won our division in PHS and BMS as well. You couldn't wipe the grins off our faces. Combined with the fact that Deirdre's cat Alice was found that afternoon after 8 days missing it was a very excellent day.

It is  bit hedonistic but a twilight race is a good way to end what is sometimes an otherwise very ordinary week.
